What Is NearTopia?  What is it's objective?

NearTopia is a MicroNation that currently is only represented in intellectual form.  Currently there is no land mass on earth that is not claimed by a massive government power or collection of governmental powers.  So in the format given us as human beings, NearTopia is a citizenry of intellectual entities who currently exist in the network collective known as the internet or in our preferred description Cyber-Space.

Currently to become a citizen you need to become part of our Collective environment.  There is no cost to join the virtual environment however there may be costs involved with becoming a "Legal" NearTopian citizen.

Reality / Humanity / Need for government.

As many know, the human psyche can perceive reality though its interaction with the environment which consists of sensations; sight, sound, smell, touch, taste and the internal sensation that drives us all emotion.  Though our environment does not contain two of the five elements which constitutes physical reality,  There is enough presence in that, the interaction is real enough to experience environmental interaction, struggle, relationships and of course social interaction as in the real physical realm to be deemed a real property location in regards to intellectual and social rights.

Though this, as a coherent and structured society of real persons, we have proclaimed our environment, though digital, as a realized environment requiring government structure in that it does contain human interaction, social structures, environmental interaction, economic interaction, and realized intellectual property by its said citizenry.

But I Live in a nation now and we have our own laws, what's the point?

  This is more then an exercise of political conversations or complaining about what's wrong with local governments, or those who claim of conspiracies to strip people of freedoms.

 As with any government, it's about ideology.  Any government structure currently in existence is because a group of people had an idea of the best way for society to come together and be represented as a whole, and the idea of stability and what's best for everyone involved, and like every government in the world, the structure outgrew the people and then started dominate over individuals instead of representing them.

  So most governments today do not, in fact, represent the citizens, but rather use their power to attempt to control and conform the citizens into what the individuals, who are running the government, feel is best for them as a whole (parent/child syndrome) A person of power feels they know what is better for you then you do, and is willing to strip you of ability to do what you want to do, so they forcibly can govern you.  After all they know what's best for you right?

  The only thing currently truly free in this world are the minds and ideas of individuals, regardless if you live in a free market government, or a socially oppressive dictatorship.

  Some people are politically executed for thinking for themselves, some are prosecuted, a fair number of people are indoctrinated to prevent them from thinking for themselves or thinking freely, as this is an actual threat to the government structure who maintains control over citizens of a particular government type.   You can not have complete dictated rule over someone who thinks freely.

As with other MicroNations, This is the idea and ability to exercise freedom of thought and exercise as a collective of people under an organized umbrella, designed by, and maintained by, the group of people in question. 

Why not just do your own free thinking why a MicroNation? 

There is nothing wrong with that, however that is also known as Anarchy.  Each person moving in their own direction at any given time. 

  The purpose of a MicroNation is so there is freedom of thought and freedom of communication however as a group who can support and help each other, Anarchist truly stand alone and as such must have the ability to stand alone against the world which is a very daunting task for most anyone. 

Now, some think of Anarchists as people who are out to destroy society.  Generally anarchy is perceived as a very bad and wrong word.  Or it is perceived as a state of chaos where society and its structure is burning to the ground, which is not what Anarchy means, that is not Anarchy, that's Chaos. Two totally different meanings.

  By definition Anarchy is a structure where there is no designated leader, and everyone is self ruled, but as a mutually accepted structure so the group of citizens do not answer to a higher power but still act as a whole.

Example:  Traditional government and Anarchy is the difference between how things are done at work, a CEO, managers, leads, and workers.  And how things are when you live in a household of platonic roommates where you generally agree on what things will be like share in responsibilities, but generally roommates do not have a say, nor are in the position to demand what you can or cannot do with your life or free time.

  Though the roommate structure is actually Anarchy (didn't know you lived as an Anarchist hu?), it operates and most of the time is generally smooth in operation as a household or group.

  The problem occurs when one person decides they want to introduce a form of government into the situation and claims control over the household, a person like that tends to want dictatorship control, which others are not agreeable to.

  That is what Anarchy is.  Anarchy is not bad, and Anarchy has a designated place in the world with smaller groups, however Anarchy generally doesn't work in larger macro group situations because of criminal intent by the minority of the group.  I really wished Anarchy could work as a macro-group dynamic but reality states otherwise.

So NearTopia is a concept for people to play with then?

No:  NearTopia is a serious structure for individuals who agree with and wish to participate within a government that is truly designed to represent it's citizens.  Generally if a person never experienced freedom they have no concept of how to attain it, or why to fight for it.

  Those who have it, don't know about it until after it has been taken from them.

  This is an actual government organization which allows it's citizens to exercise and experience what it is to have a government structure that allows true freedoms.  The only way you will know what it is like, is to join.  You may of course resign as a citizen at any time, and are not required to maintain citizenship, though as a group you must abide by any laws the group agrees to as a whole, just as with any other nation.

  We ask you abide by these in your daily lives so you understand what is involved with this so you better understand what it is to be a citizen if we had actual landmass to live in.  If you can not physically exercise our laws due to your governments restrictions, take a moment out to think what it would be like to be able to exercise these rights and laws in your daily activities.

Please note however, most who live in oppressive nations will only be able to exercise this in mind or cyberspace only, as the local governments are so restrictive that you have no legal rights to exercise any of our laws due to other governments that have stripped it's citizens of these rights and freedoms long ago.

Warning: For some dictator type governments, you may actually be in physical risk by associating with this MicroNation.  As those types of government will find this as a form of treason, as it actually threatens their ability to dictate over the lives and minds of it's citizens.  Freedom is an actual threat to some governments. But most of the time you wont have access to this site because of said restriction

  Also note anyone living in a free market government, U.S., U.K., Most of Europe, Japan, Australia New Zealand, etc. This MicroNation poses no threat to you politically to being a citizen, as long as you abide by their laws.  We are not able to prevent legal prosecution to you if you decide to break their laws.

this is not a theorized white paper, this has to do with reality in it's structure and citizens.  Each citizen gets one voice in the structuring of the socially changing government structure, within the environmental location of NearTopia.

Our World which we exercise our rights and live our lives is within the environmental simulations of Elemental Dimensions MMO. (EDMMO)

Though EDMMO is a simulated environment and a MMO game itself, the fact it has hosted our environment doe not dissolve our structure, our reality, or the fact we have full control of our environment and governmental structure within our designated boarders of simulated space and resources.  Our area is separate from the rest of the EDMMO environment and accessible only by NearTopia and it's Citizens.

  The rest of the MMO is controlled by the game company, however we have an unrestricted rule of our environment and as such the game company itself has pledged they will not interfere with in our designated boarders, with our membership, or with our environmental constructs/ Intellectual property.  The space, environment, and locations is 100% built and controlled by NearTopia.

In a sense we have a interactive environment to exercise our citizen rights and governmental structure.  If you are currently part of a MicroNation and would like a virtual presence other then a text/web presence, please feel free to contact us in regards for having a "physical" representative embassy location.  Do not contact the game company Directly as they have given us in absolute terms, that this will be the only location within their property rights in regards to this kind of structure.  They will not give up any further space for other MicroNations.

Seeing we are the "designated" MicroNation within their property environment, you must go through us to get any registered and recognized Embassy for your Nation's presence.  We do have over head costs so expenses may be discussed in exchange for your ability to become a recognized MicroNation government entity within the virtual represented environment.

As such we have legal rights to host other MicroNations, or give any or all of our "Space" to other MicroNations to have a group of independent nations represented with their own governing laws and structures.

This space is dedicated within the server universe of EDMMO as will be the intellectual property within this designated location, so we are solely responsible for any and all content within our borders.

 Please Note this is NOT simply another Second-Life type environment.  This is a physical simulated world with a real world cash environment, items created can be purchased and sold, and involves real world banks.  The structure is such that laws can be dispensed as can virtual incarceration for any type of criminal act, as can banishment from our sector of the EDMMO universe.  Our format is a bit different then a mere MMO game, so when in our environment do not treat it as a game.

  Laws are designated by its citizens and enforced by said citizens, just as in the real world.  We can and will restrict access to our "world space" from other EDMMO players as the game company has stated that we have this right.

  So not only do we get to have our own unique environmental space, we also get to explore the rest of the EDMMO environment at will, consider it a side benefit of citizenship.

Citizenship is taken seriously.  You are expected to participate in our government structure, as well as being a part of our MicroNation, we may exact certain taxes as does real world governments, as our nation does incur expenses and use resources.

Not all taxes or perhaps none of the taxes will be monetary in nature, some may simply require supply of certain resources or sharing of stockpiled items you may possess to build our cities, infrastructure and defensive abilities or may be community supplied labor in your skill ability.

Consider this as you would being a citizen of the nation you currently reside in.  You use infrastructures, roads, buildings, utilities, etc, they take resources and man hours.  we are the same, though through a virtual simulated environment, it does not make the reality of our structure any less.  Buildings have to be built, roads constructed, utilities built and maintained, and in your rights as a citizen your home and personal property to be claimed and built.  As with any responsibility, there are also rewards.

NearTopia is an attempt to structure a real government presiding over real people who are part of the citizenship.  We have real laws, and real situations to deal with.  Those who would like to become citizens please read over our government structure to see if you would like to become part of our society.

  You will find it more streamlined then real world governments, it is also been designed from the ground up with modern issues and technology in mind and as such is a much better form of government then what currently exists, which was originally designed and structured from situations, technology and social structures that no longer exist.

Does NearTopia have its own culture?

Yes:

Our culture is a mix of European, Asian and Native American cultures.

  All citizens are required to speak rudimentary English as this is our national language.  You have to be able to communicate in English to be a citizen. 

We also have religion in our environment which may conflict with traditional conservative Christianity, Catholicism.  Though freedom of religion is one of our rights so you are not required into any one belief system, or any belief at all to maintain citizenship, though you do need to be tolerant of other viewpoints.

  We are based off of a Hybrid Democratic structure, so is similar to the U.S. format, however it is different then any government currently represented with territorial earth governments.   We have our own economy, and our own currency.  We also have nobility structures, However ALL governmental seats of power are election controlled.  We also have law enforcement and military presence, in that we protect our virtual simulated space, though we are not an actual armed citizenry in real world earth.

  We have legal courts to deal with crimes as they would be in the physical world.  punishment may include incarceration/isolation from the group for designated time frames, financial penalty, or if severe enough relinquishment of all assets tied to our structure and permanent banishment from our MicroNation (The equivalence to the death penalty)
